WONDERFUL Mexican Artisan Antique/Vintage 900 Silver Bird Of Paradise Necklace

  
LOVELY antique/vintage Mexican artisan signed, ornate. 900 silver and sterling silver, two-tone, ornate open work bird of paradise pendant/pin necklace. This stunning necklace is 19 long and weighs 10.3 grams. It features a wonderful antique/vintage Mexican artisan signed, beautifully detailed bird of paradise pendant/pin that measures 2 3/8" long by 1 5/8" wide. This pendant/pin has an exceptional repoussé design that features a lovely bird of paradise on a pedestal in rose gold over silver at the center, wreathed in gold flora and framed with a delightful, art nouveau style open work design with a masked face at the top flanked by two birds of paradise whose elegant tails extend in flowing scroll work to the bottom where a small phoenix bird resides. This pendant has wonderful texture and detail throughout. The bail is quite large and is beautifully hinged.

The back of this pendant has a hinged pin and "C" clasp with an additional small hinged mechanism that holds the pin so that it stays safely closed, when in use. It is fully hallmarked with a pyramid design, "NJP", "900" and "CJATL", I believe. This pendant/pin is a true work of art with impressive craftsmanship AND workmanship. It hangs on a very nice vintage designer signed sterling silver rope chain that is 19 long and that has a spring ring clasp.

That chain is stamped "Sterling" and "M" in a figural mark. This necklace is in very good antique/vintage condition with no damage other than, perhaps, very minor surface wear or oxidation.
