ABOUT: This is an amazing item! It is a Victorian Dance Card Chatelaine! It is SOLID STERLING SILVER with a gilt Gold color!

The cherub clip would have attached to a ladies belt or skirt, and the chains would allow the notepad to hang. The notepad has a porcelain angel baby plaque with flowers. The front and back of the notepad has enamel inlaid designs in the gilt gold Sterling Silver. The enamel colors are white, black, baby blue and an olive green! It side slides open to reveal celluloid pages.

The cherub clip has amazing detail! The cherub clip and hang chains are in very good condition with minimal wear. The dance card front and back are in good overall condition with no dents... There is some missing enamel here and there. The front porcelain plaque is in very good condition with no cracks. Some minor separation from front on top. A couple pin head sized rivets missing on the front (I almost did not even see this). The celluloid pages have a lot of writing, wear, aging, staining, some dirt, and damage (this is why you are getting a great price)!

There are cracks to the celluloid too. When this is shut, it is AMAZING to display!

If you took the time, you could probably clean the pages a bit. You will probably NEVER see another chatelaine dance card like this in your lifetime! Please see photos, as these are part of the description. Please ZOOM in to see detail.

Let me know if you want to see them. STAMPS: There is an illegible hallmark on the lower clip that holds the pages on the notepad in front. This is STERLING SILVER Cherub Clip, Chains, also Front and Back of notebook... All the metal is STERLING SILVER =. (The only piece that is not sterling silver is the little screw on top that holds the notebook together). MEASUREMENTS: The notepad itself is 3.2" tall x 2" wide x 0.3 thick. The cherub clip is 2" tall (including clip), and 1.75" wide. The distance from the top of the cherub clip to the bottom of the notepad (hanging down from the chains) is 12.8. => I have had this for awhile. I really don't want to sell this, but I really need a vacation at some point. My loss is your gain! Add this to your collection!
